Morocco international Achraf Hakimi has revealed that he is struggling to make a decision between Real Madrid and his current team Borussia Dortmund as he feels loyal to both sides, Daily Mail reported.
Hakimi was shipped out on a two-year loan to Dortmund in the summer of 2018 and has gone to be one of the most outstanding defenders to be reckoned with in the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old has garnered plentiful attention from some of the biggest clubs in Europe due to his impressive displays for Dortmund and it comes as no surprise that he feels torn in his decision to return to Madrid or remain in Germany.
Several reports have revealed that the Black and Yellow are eager to offer the youngster a contract extension.
'My heart is divided between Madrid and Dortmund,' Hakimi told Ruhr Nachrichten.
'It is still six months until the summer, there are still a lot of games. What I can say is that right now I am very happy to be at Borussia Dortmund. I feel very comfortable.'
The 2019 CAF Youth Player of the Year reportedly expressed his desire to return to Spain early last year in October.
He told AS: 'I'm not going to lie, I'd love to be a success there, of course.
'I grew up at Madrid, it's the club I call home and I'd like to keep on growing as a player there, but if it isn't to be I'll look to be a success somewhere else.
'Right now, I'm only focusing on taking each game as it comes and performing to the best of my ability. Next summer's still a little way off and we'll just have to see what happens.'
Hakimi has scored six goals and provided six assists from 26 appearances this season.
