Former AFC Leopards head coach Dennis Kitambi has mutually terminated his contract with Simba SC with the club appointing Selemani Matola as his replacement.

Kitambi joined Simba back in February this year after a stint with Bangladesh side Saif Sporting Club where he was the assistant manager.

The Tanzanian tactician was tasked with leading AFC Leopards on interim basis after Roberto Matano was fired at the den but his stint did not last with Rodolfo Zapata replacing him after 10 games.

A statement by Simba confirmed Kitambi's exit, "The Board of Directors of Simba Sports Company Limited has reached a mutual agreement with Mr. Dennis Kitambi to terminate his Contract of Employment as its Club Assistant as it's Club's Assistant head coach effective from 10th December 2019.

"Simba Sports Club appreciates what Mr. Dennis Kitambo has achieved with the club with regard to local and international competitions.

"Further, the Board has appointed Mr. Selemani Matola as an Assistant Head coach of Simba Sports Club effective from 10th December 2019. At the same time, Mr. Selemani Matola will act as the Head Coach of Simba Sports Club's youth team working in collaboration with the current youth team's coaches."
