FIFA nominate Nigeria's Said's strike for U17 World Cup Goal Of Tournament award

FIFA has shortlisted one of the goals scored by Golden Eaglets midfielder Ibrahim Said for the goal of the tournament award at the just concluded 2019 U17 World Cup in Brazil.

Said’s second goal in the Golden Eaglets’ 3-2 win against Ecuador in their second Group B game is among the 10 goals shortlisted by FIFA.

The Dabo Babes Academy star scored Nigeria’s second goal with a superb curling effort from the edge of the area.

According to FIFA, voting will end on Monday and the winner will be announced the same day.

Brazil’s Gabriel Veron who won the most valuable player prize of the competition, Golden Boot winner Sontje Hansen from Netherlands, France’s Nathaniel Mbuku and Diego Duarte are also nominated.

Diego (Brazil) Matias Godoy (Argentina), Degnand Gnonto, Gaetano Oristanio (both Italy) and Santiago Munoz (Mexico) are the other players shortlisted.
