Maurizio Sarri explains why Cristiano Ronaldo reacted angrily to his substitution

Cristiano Ronaldo reacted angrily after being substituted in the Champions League clash against Lokomotiv Moscow as Juventus ran out 2-1 winners.

Ronaldo was substituted for Paulo Dybala in the 82nd minute as the former Real Madrid player appeared unhappy at the unexpected decision by Maurizio Sarri.

The Portuguese skipper was denied a goal in the first half when Aaron Ramsey fired home his free-kick that was millimeters from crossing the line after being spilled by Guilherme.

Speaking in a press conference after the game, Sarri revealed why Ronaldo was upset by the substitution, "Cristiano Ronaldo was angry because he's not ok. He's had a niggle in his knee for the past few days, which is overloading his thigh, which tires out too much.

"At the break he was already worried about it. Then, when I saw him make a movement I didn't like when he was accelerating I took him off because I was scared that he might do himself real harm."
