Juventus and Bayern Munich narrowly won their ties, with the former needing a late Paolo Dybala brace to see off a stubborn Lokomotiv Moscow.
Top players also shone brightest on the night, with the Mbappe and Sterling grabbing a hattrick.
In total, there were two hattricks and six braces scored across Europe.
