Ajax Amsterdam will have to play without their away fans for the match against Chelsea on Tuesday 5th November at the Stamford Bridge after they were banned by UEFA.
UEFA banned Ajax from selling tickets to their away supporters for their next UEFA competition match due to “acts of damages and crowd disturbances” by their away fans during their match against Valencia at the Mestalla on October 2.
The two teams will meet in Amsterdam on Wednesday 23rd October for the first leg of the encounter. Ajax could yet appeal against UEFA’s decision, which includes €68k in fines, reparations to Valencia for damage caused, as well as a suspended sentence of one additional away match ticket ban.
Their appeal will unlikely go through due to them already carrying a suspended disciplinary measure for similar actions by their traveling fans last November against Benfica.
