Former Manchester United and England international Rio Ferdinand heaped praises on Chelsea centre-back Fikayo for his impressive exploits in the Blues' UEFA Champions League tie against Lille.
Speaking as one of three guests on BT Sport which included former Chelsea midfielder and coach respectively; Joe Cole and Glenn Hoddle, Ferdinand shared the same sentiments with his fellow panellists that Tomori was the best defender on the pitch from both sides and praised his growth.
"Huge talent he is (in reference to Tomori). That was the best defender on the pitch.
"Everything he did - his tenacity, his anticipation, his willingness to step up and make quick decisions. He knew there were dangers," Ferdinand said as Tomori's tracking back to stop a counter-attacking move was shown on television.
"This is Chelsea's best performer in their last three games. This is what you want from a centre back," Ferdinand added.
