Francis Kimanzi reveals Harambee Stars skipper in Victor Wanyama's absence

With Victor Wanyama missing in the Harambee Stars squad that is set to take on Uganda in a friendly, Francis Kimanzi has appointed Michael Olunga and Joash Onyango as the captain and vice-captain respectively.

Wanyama has not featured for his side Tottenham Hotspur this season after suffering an injury just before the start of the campaign. There has been a lot of talk over the future of the 28-year-old at Spurs as he was linked with moves to Club Brugge, Celtic and various clubs from Turkey.

Speaking to the media in an open training session, Kimanzi revealed who will captain the side against Uganda, "Wanyama has always been the captain but when the captain is not there you always have to find a replacement and we have appointed Michael Olunga who will be assisted by Joash Onyango."

The match is slated for Sunday 9th September at the MISC Kasarani in a 4 PM kick-off.
