With the continental clubs competition qualification rounds already kicking off, futaa has combined a list of non-Africans that will feature in the Champions League and Confederations Cup.
2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns have the highest number of non-Africans on their squad with five. Brazilians comprise the highest number of non-Africans plying their trade in the continent with a whopping nine. There are only two Europeans on the list who turn out for South African sides, Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zesco United made headlines when they signed Japanese forward Kosuke Nakamachi on a two-year contract from Yokohama F. Marinos back in February this year. In total there are 21 players out of the continent that feature for clubs that will take part in the Champions League and Confederations Cup.
