SuperSport United have reportedly confirmed that they will not be going through with the signing of Ashanti Gold striker Shafiu Mumuni.
Mumuni was said to be on trial with the side for a duration of two but returned to his native Ghana without any deal closed.
In an interview with Kick Off, the SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo revealed that they will not be securing the Ghanaian's signature.
“We are not signing him, he has left”, Tembo said.
However, in better news for the striker, he has been registered to feature in Ashanti Gold's quest for Caf Confederation Cup success and will be expected to play a role in motivating the Miners as they kick off their campaign at the weekend.
Ethiopian club Akonangui FC will play host to the Ghana Premier League club.
