Chemelil FC coach Francis Baraza is pleased by club’s trialist following two friendly matches against Muhoroni Youth and KCB.
The Millers registered a 2-0 win over Muhoroni Youth Courtesy of Clifford Omondi’s brace before settling for a goalless draw with KCB in a match staged at Muhoroni Stadium. The matches were played for the anniversary of Muhoroni youth FC being in the limelight of football and Muhoroni youth FC director Moses Adagala also donated some foodstuffs and clothing for the widows around.
“I think the game was good, the only thing I can say is am happy for the boys. It’s was just three to four days to the match against KCB so I can say it is plus to the boys,” Baraza told Futaa.
“In the first half, I ensured all the new faces who came for trials start before making changes in the second half. I must admit it was a good match, the boys played well and they showed a good direction. Should they continue this way well we will have a squad to depend on.
“The reason behind the friendly matches was all about to check the fitness of players. Having told them to train during the offseason, I will say the level of fitness is not that good. But for the game against Muhoroni, I was impressed with how we created chances and converted them.”
Chemelil’s first KPL match will be away to Zoo FC on September 1, 2019, at Kericho Green Stadium.
