Joachim Andersen has completed his move from Sampdoria to Lyon for a reported fee of €24m plus €6m bonuses.
Andersen, who was heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Tottenham has signed a long term contract with the Serie A outfit. He was tipped to replace Toby Alderweireld who could be on his way out but now Lyon has beaten Spurs to his signature.
The 23-year-old, who made more accurate passes (1802) than any other player aged 23 and under in Serie A last season, is expected to slot into the starting XI and replace Brazilian defender Marcelo, in a considerable upgrade.
