The Daily Mirror has reported that Champions League finalists Juventus are in contention to sign West Brom's Rekeem Harper ahead of the summer transfer window.
Even back when Darren Moore was West Brom manager, the Baggies were trying to tie down the youngster to a new deal. However, it is now late June and Harper’s contract situation is yet to be resolved.
As it stands, he will leave the club at the end of the month, putting West Brom at risk of losing him for just a small compensation fee. And, a number of top clubs are reportedly lurking and considering taking advantage of bringing in the midfielder on the cheap.
Harper emerged into the West Brom first-team picture during the course of last season, playing a total of 23 games across all competitions for the club, including seven games for the Baggies’ second-string side in the Premier League 2.
He made his debut for the club back in August 2017, coming off the bench against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Harper emerged from the club’s youth academy, joining the likes of Sam Field and Kyle Edwards in making the step up from the academy and into the first-team.
However, with a contract resolution yet to be reached, Harper may have played his last game for the club. Fans will be hoping he can come to an agreement over a new deal before it is too late.
