AFC Leopards winger leaves the club

Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards has parted ways with winger Ivan Ssekaza this as reported by Kawowo Sports.

The Ugandan joined the Andre Mbungo coached side in the short March/April window from Tanzania side Mwadui Football club on a one year deal; reasons for his departure still unexplained.

Kawowo claims that the 23-year-old had been handed his release letter last week by the club and left immediately for his native Uganda.

Stints

The Aspire Academy product previously had stints in Qatar and Sudan as well as Belgium where he featured for the country's Division Two side KS Eupen.

In his native Uganda, he has featured for Express FC with the player having featured for Western Stima in the Kenyan Premier League too.

Considered one of the brightest prospects earlier in his career, Ssekaza featured for the Uganda U20 side back in 2012.

Chances

Ssekaza chances at the den were further dented by the arrival of Harambee Stars winger Paul Were who was preferred by head coach Mbungo in games.

With the ever-present Brian Marita also impressing on the other wing, the Ugandan was reduced to bench roles in positions that had Jaffari Owiti and brother Aziz Okaka also lying in wait.
