Ashanti Gold have booked a semifinal slot in the ongoing Special Competition, after a 3-0 drubbing of the Eleven Wonders FC on Friday afternoon.
The match was called off on Thursday evening due to heavy rains with Gold leading 1-0 and was restarted on Friday afternoon from the 40th minute.
Emmanuel Owusu was the star of the day, as he scored two crucial goals that saw AshGold top group A standings on 23 points, one ahead of Asante Kotoko, who drew 1-1 on Thursday with Aduana Stars.
The team came into the match leading from Appiah McCarthy's goal, and Owusu extended the lead just after the hour mark from the penalty spot, before adding his second of the day towards the end of the match.
