Breaking: Bafana Bafana COSAFA Cup squad, Dolly named

The South African Football Association (SAFA) have announced the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2019 COSAFA Cup.

The annual COSAFA Cup, kicking on the Saturday 25 May in Durban, is for teams from Southern Africa organized by Council of Southern Africa Football Associations.

Due to rankings, Bafana only joins the tournament in the quarter-final stage after the lower rank nations after played the Group stage qualifications.

Additionally, SAFA confirmed that U23 head coach David Notoane will take charge of the event. Keagan Dolly is the surprise call-up after an injury-plagued season in France.

Goalkeepers: Mondli Mpoto (Bloemfontein Celtic), Darren Johnson (Ajax Cape Town), Reyaad Pieterse (Mamelodi Sundowns).

Defenders: Thendo Mukumela (Ajax), Keanu Cupido (Cape Town ), Reeve Frosler (Chiefs), Tercious Malepe (Chippa), Katlego Mohamme (SuperSport), Bongani Sam (Bloemfontein), Sandie Mthethwa (Richards Bay).

Midfielders : Teboho Mokoena (Supersport) , Athenkosi Dlala (Supersport) , Keagan Dolly (Montpellier), Sipho Mbule (Supersport), Kamohelo Mahlatsi (Supersport) Grant Margeman (Ajax), Jamie Webber (Supersport) Kgaogelo Sekgota (Vitoria Setubal, (Portugal).

Strikers: Phakamani Mahlambi (Sundowns), Lerato Lepasa (TS Galaxy), Jemondre Dickens (Baroka ), Luther Singh GD Chaves, Portugal), Liam Jordan (Koge FC, Denmark).

Bafana kick off the tournament on 2 June against Botswana.
