Nkana's dream to play Continental football in the 2019/2020 season came to a crushing end this afternoon when they were held to a goalless draw by Buildcon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Nkana came in the match with a slight chance to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup but needed to beat Buildcon to keep their hopes alive. The twelve time Champions however only settled for a point following a frustrating afternoon which automatically knocked them out of the race but gave Nkawazi a life line.
At Nkoloma Stadium, Lusaka dynamos revived their hopes of playing continental football thanks to a narrow one nil win over Zesco United.
Zimbabwe national team defender Dennis Dauda scored the winner with the last kick of the match pouncing on a loose ball to earn Elite maximum points which took them to 30 points at 5th place within a point of log leaders Kabwe Warriors who are on 31 points.
