Copa del Rey: Suarez humiliates Real Madrid to send Barcelona to finals
Luiz Suarez opened the scoring for Barca before Raphael Varane put the ball into his own net. Suarez then scored from the penalty kick to send the Catalans to the finals of Copa del Rey for the sixth straight season.
The first leg ended 1-1 at the Nou Camp, and while Real Madrid had a boost of an away goal, and a goalless draw could see the hosts through to the finals.
Vinicius Junior went to ground under pressure from Semedo. The winger had just played a one-two with Modric and took a couple of touches before going down. The referee waved play on and it looked like the right call.
Jordi Alba failed to deal with Benzema's cross and it fell kindly for Vinicius to shoot on the turn, but Ter Stegen spread himself big to make a vital stop.
Barcelona took the lead in the second half through Suarez. Dembele was set free down the left and he cuts a cross back for Suarez, who opted to let it roll across before he struck it with his right foot, and it squeezes in at the near post beyond Navas.
Madrid was once again punished. It looked like it was the same combination of Dembele finding Suarez, but the cross was actually turned in by Varane inside the six-yard area, and that went down as an own goal.
Barcelona had the chance to make it three from the spot. Suarez stepped up and opted for the Panenka, dinking it down the middle with Navas stepping to his right.
