Zambia National team midfielder Clatous Chota Chama put in a man of the match the match performance and scored a goal to send Simba SC to thesemi finals of the Sportspesa Cup.
Simba came into the match on the back of a five nil bashing by As Vita in the CAF Champions League and needed a win to get back their mojo when they faced AFC Leopards in the Sportspesa Cup.
Simba coach Patrick Aussems started the match with some changes from the team that suffered a huge defeat in DR Congo leaving out Meddie Kagere and John Bocco from his starting line up.
Simba took the lead after just 13 minutes after Zana Coulibaly found Emmanuel Okwi in space and the Ugandan made no mistake and slotted home. Four minutes later Okwi could have grabbed his brace after being set up by Chama but he failed to beat the Leopards goal keeper. Simba went to the break leading by a lone goal.
In the second stanza it only took three minutes for Simba SC to double their lead as Chama got on the end of a pass from substitute Meddie Kagere and made no mistake.
Vincent Oburu pulled one back in the 61st minute but Simba managed to hold on and win the match. Simba will face another Kenyan opponent in Bandari in the semi finals.
