Tanzania striker move to England top flight side rejected

14 Jan 2019, 19:05

Belgian side Genk has rejected a bid believed to be around €13m from English Premier League newbies Cardiff City for their Tanzanian striker Mbwana Samatta reports France Football.

26-year-old Tanzanian Samatta is currently the Belgian 1st division’s top scorer, netting 15 goals in 20 matches and having scored 9 goals in 10 Europa League matches this season is believed to be attracting offers from top sides in Europe.

Opening Bid

The money offered by Cardiff is the Welsh side’s opening bid, but there is no surety that they will be submitting another improved bid for the former TP Mazembe striker with Cardiff yet to give up on signing Emiliano Sala from Nantes.

Cardiff who is placed 17th on the log with 19 points has struggled in front of the opposition goal having only registered 19 goals the entire season.

Apart from Samatta and Sala, the club is believed to be in for the services of Everton striker Oumar Niasse who has fallen down the pecking order at Everton.
