Amarachi Orjinma of Pelican Stars has emerged the highest scorer in the just-concluded Nigeria Women Premier League, following her season total of 17 goals.

Amarachi was named by the Nigeria Women Football League board as the official statistics for the last Women Premier League season, which includes the list of highest goal scorers for the 2013/2014 season, was released.

Coasted

A brief overview of the scorers chart reveals Pelican Stars of Calabar's prized asset, Orjinma coasted home as the league's top scorer, scoring a total of seventeen (17) league goals, three more than her nearest challenger.

However, Queen John reports that the in depth strength of eventual league winners, Rivers Angels was shown in that their total of 32 goals which was the highest in the league, was achieved without any of their players reaching double figures.

Apart from Orjinma who had 17 goals, Obot  Bassey of Ibom Angels scored 14 goals, Ngozi Ebere of Rivers Angels scored six times, while Golden girl Asisat Oshoala scored five times.

Meanwhile, the 2014/2015 Nigeria Women Premier League season has been fixed to commence on the 28th of February, 2015
