Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has given Marcos Alonso a clean bill of health ahead of their English Premier League match against Arsenal on Tuesday night.
The defender has been out since Chelsea's win over Tottenham, but seems to have shaken the injury and will be in contention for tomorrow's clash at the Bridge.
Lampard and company will, however, have to wait a little longer to ascertain whether or not Reece James will recover in good time for the clash.
The defender, who signed a new deal last week, picked a knee injury during the weekend fixture against Newcastle and will be observed ahead of the tie.
"He’s got an injury to the back of his knee area," Lampard revealed.
"It’s not as bad as it could have been or we maybe thought so he’s in contention for tomorrow but it’s going to be a tight call.
"We’ll give him another 24 hours to see if it settles down but it’s settled down pretty quickly so far. I was concerned because he had injuries at the start of the season with his ankle but when it wasn’t that I was quite happy. Hopefully, he’ll be involved tomorrow, if not for the weekend," he added.
Apart from James, the rest of the team is fit, save for Christian Pulisic who will be out for a couple of weeks.
Lampard will hope his side bounces back from the shocking defeat in Tyneside on Saturday against an unpredictable Arsenal.
The Blues will, however, be buoyed by the fact that they won the reverse fixture at Emirates Stadium 2-1 a few weeks ago.
