Wolverhampton Wanderers' winger Adama Traore has called up to the Spain squad despite reports suggesting the 23-year-old had decided to represent Mali.
In the week, Traore had been spotted receiving a Malian jersey with suggestions being ripe that he was ready to feature for the Mali national team in international games.
A statement on Spain Football Federation website on Saturday noted: "Adama Traore, the Wolves player, will be the replacement for Rodrigo Moreno of Valencia in the national team's squad for the matches against Malta and Romania.”
Rodrigo Moreno pulled out after suffering an injury during Valencia's 2-0 win over Granada earlier on Saturday.

Spain-born Traore who is a product of the Barcelona La Masia Academy represented the Spanish under-21 side but had been touted to play for Mali after being left out in the cold by the Spanish senior side.
He has been a key player for Wolves this season where he has featured in ten games and will hope he can make his Spain debut in either of the team's final two Euro 2020 qualifiers against Malta on 15 November and Romania on 18 November.
