Nigerian striker Omotoye excited to sign Norwich City contract

Nigerian teenager Tyrese Omotoye has signed his first professional contract with Norwich City.

The 17-year-old made 19 competitive appearances for the U18s, scoring three goals and assisting with another two.

"I feel like I've earned it. Every day you've got to work hard for your place in the squad, so I'm very happy knowing that my hard work has paid off and is being shown", the delighted youngster told the club website.

"Making it into the U18s line-ups is just the start, I want to progress through to the U23s, and then make it into the first-team. That's my main goal, above all else.

"Right now, I'm focusing on improving every day so I can be the best player possible. I'm motivated by the thought of getting into that first-team squad."

Omotoye is eligible to represent three countries namely Belgium, England and Nigeria but has pledged his international allegiance with the West African nation.
