Spain settled for the second successive 1-1 draw in Scandinavia this time against Sweden with Rodrigo Moreno sparing La Roja's blushes in stoppage time.
After both teams squandered golden opportunities in the first half, Sweden turned on the heat in the second half and broke the deadlock five minutes after the resumption when Robin Quaison delivered an inch-perfect cross that was headed by Emile Forsberg but David De Gea was on hand to make a double save but could not keep out Marcus Berg header from close range.
Spain dominated possession but found it hard to break the resolute Sweden defense that was determined to hold on for the win. Substitute Rodrigo Moreno, however, had other ideas in stoppage time as Fabian Ruiz' corner went all the way and found the Valencia forward unmarked in the far post to fire in the equalizer.
Spain next face Malta and Romania at home while Sweden travel to face Romania and host the Faroe Islands in the last qualifying game.
