Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich were offered striker Gabriel Jesus in the summer according to a report from German outlet Sport Bild.
Reports from Bild on Wednesday claim City offered Jesus to Bayern for €100m but the Bavarians only wanted to sign Sané.
Bayern made it no secret in their pursuit of Jesus teammate Leroy Sané and Bayern president Uli Hoeness revealed how close they came to signing the former Schalke man in the past week.
“We were very much interested. We had discussions with him, but his big accident, awful injury-we could not go on with that. Therefore, we have to wait now (and see) how his recovery goes on. I think the new leaders will have to sit down in January or February (and decide) what’s going on with that,” Hoeness told Planet Fútbol.
City was said to be demanding €150m to sell Sané in the summer but with his contract set to expire in 2021, that fee is likely to decrease as time goes on.
With the array of talent at his disposal, Bild claims that Pep Guardiola’s side may also be forced to sell the 23-year-old in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
