Barcelona and Argentine Superstar Lionel Messi Lionel was named as the 2019 FIFA Best Player on Monday night after beating off competition from Virgil Van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo.
But how did the other stars together vote in the awards?
Winner Messi voted for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane as his first choice but excluded fellow World Player of the Year nominee Virgil van Dijk from his top three. The Barcelona superstar put Cristiano Ronaldo and Frenkie de Jong as second and third respectively.
Ronaldo voted his Juventus team-mate Matthijs De Ligt as the best player over the course of the year and completely snubbed Messi from his top three with Frenkie De Jong and Kylian Mbappe his other options.
