Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's words to Manchester United players after West Ham defeat

Following their 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham United, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed to his players the need to do more according to Scott McTominay.

United suffered their second defeat of the season courtesy of goals in either half by Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell, in a poor display by the Red Devils. Since winning each of his first nine away games as United manager in all competitions, Solskjaer has now failed to win his last nine away from home.

Speaking after the match, McTominay revealed what Solskjaer said after the defeat, "We know we have to do more on and off the ball and if you’re not doing the jobs on the pitch then you need to be told and it’s as simple as that. It’s up to us now and the leaders that we’ve got in the group to bring everybody together and keep our heads.

"It’s not the time to back down and say ‘It’s okay.’ Because it’s not okay we need to do more on and off the pitch and as a group as well. The manager has reiterated that to us and it’s all about standards of this football club and they weren’t there today."
