Juventus top management is believed to be unhappy with manager Maurizio Sarri over his addiction to smoking despite being down with pneumonia.
The 60-year-old was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier in August and has missed the Old Lady's first two Serie A games after taking advice from club doctors.
He is expected to be on the touchline for Juve's upcoming game against his old club Napoli this weekend following signs of improvement in his health.
But top hierarchy at Juventus are irritated by Sarri's smoking habit, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera published an image of the Juventus manager holding a packet of cigarettes while posing with fans outside his home earlier this week, suggesting that he will be defying the wishes of his bosses.
Juventus face Napoli at home on Saturday evening in the Serie A.
