Following reports that Neymar has been banned from the Paris Saint Germain first-team squad, the club's chief Leonardo has denied the rumors.
Neymar left Barcelona for PSG back in 2017, in a world-record £189m switch, but is keen on a return to the Spanish champions before the European summer transfer window slams shut on September 2. Neymar missed the matchday squad in their opening game of the season with fans venting their frustrations at the Brazilian from the stands.
In an interview with RMC, Leonardo insisted that Neymar has not been banned from first-team duties, "It's false. He has not been removed from the group. He is following a personalized rehabilitation program. He is a Paris-Saint-Germain player, there are still three years left on his contract in Paris, we must not forget that.
"We must analyze everything, we must fix everything before he can play again. Things are simple, Neymar was monitored by several great doctors and surgeons early in the season and his fracture is fully consolidated on the fifth metatarsal. Neymar's injury is completely healed."
