Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards have continued with the spending spree with their latest acquisition being that of midfielder Collins Shichenje from Green Commandos.
Shichenje was a cog in the Kakamega High School midfield as they lifted the National Secondary School Football title that was hosted in Eldoret in 2018.
He then represented Green Commandos in the National Super League last season where his brilliant performances in the team had attracted attention from a series of clubs; a fact that forced Leopards to pounce on him before anyone could make a move.
He becomes the latest new face in the team after the acquisition of Rwandese midfielder Vincent Habamahoro, Sony Sugar FC defender Robert Ayala, Soter Kayumba, Malian striker Ismaila Diarra, Ugandan goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan, midfielder Tresor Ndikumana and striker Hansel Ochieng who joined from Nzoia Sugar FC.
The club had released Wayi Yeka, goalkeeper Eric Ndayishimiye who has already joined Rwandese side AS Vita, Ivan Sekazza and Marcel Kaheza, Aziz Okaka, Paul Were, David Ochieng and Shami Kibwana to give way for the new faces.
With defender Yusuf Mainge out, the club is expected to boost their right-back position before the window closes with former Tusker FC and Sofapaka defender Collins Shivachi already training with them.
