Arsenal target Dani Alves has revealed his next club will be a ‘true champion’ this summer.
The former Paris Saint-Germain defender has been linked with Arsenal with reports over the weekend suggesting the Gunners had struck a deal to sign the Brazilian on a free transfer. Alves, who has played under Unai Emery is keen to join a Premier League club but he says the team he signs for will be a proven winner.
“Now I’m free, but I still have a lot to accomplish in my career. The only thing that I can say is that the club that signs me will sign a true champion,” he said.
The north London club which has a budget of £40m to spend this summer have been frustrated in their efforts to sign land their targets. The Gunners have failed in their bid for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and the Bhoys are refusing to budge from their £30m valuation of the left-back. They are also keen to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace with the winger valued at closer to £90m.
