AFC Leopards defender, Yusuf Mainge become the latest Kenyan Premier League player to seal a move to Europe after penning a three contract with Slovakian outfit FK Pohronie.
Mainge joined Ingwe in 2018 after an impressive stint with Kakamega High School and hit the ground running scoring in the CAF Confederations Cup Preliminary Round against Fosa Juniors. Changes in management made it hard for him to nail down a regular starting position. Mainge has also represented Kenya U23 in the Olympic qualifiers against Sudan.
Speaking to futaa, the right-back sent a farewell message to Leopards, "It was an honor playing for one of the biggest clubs in the country. The trust and opportunity they gave me despite having no KPL experience was surreal. I leave a better player than I arrived and I want to thank my coaches, players and the entire Leopards management."
Maigne was also eager to link up with his new teammates in Slovakia after sealing the deal, "Every player dreams to go professional in his career. It's an opportunity to grow as a player and can't wait to join. I'm going to give my best and hope that I will be a good ambassador for the country."
FK Pohronie is a relatively new club having been founded back in 2012 and earned promotion to the top tier league last season.
