Awasi High captain Sharif Ali has revealed his dream is to play for Kenyan Premier League side Tusker as his side prepares for this year’s Regional Kenya Secondary School games.
Sharif, who plays as a full back for the Kisumu side which is in pool A together will Gasero High, Tom Mboya High and Koderobara Secondary is urging team members to focus on the upcoming tournament. The Awasi captain reflected on how the team started as a weak side but he is thankful that the club is becoming stronger day by day.
“In KPL I would like one day to play for Tusker FC, I really like that team. My favorite player was James Situma but at the time he left for Mathare, I really now admire Shafiq Batambuze," he said.
"I would like to tell my team to fully focus on the tournament. We are also praying to God that we lift the cup so that we can make our administration happy."
Meanwhile, the Nyanza Regionals ball games have been rescheduled to 20th June - 22nd June from 18th-22nd June as confirmed by Awasi principal Joseph Manguro.
Awasi High School are set to miss the services of their two dependable players Fredrick Maina and Mark Onyango for Chapa Dimba tournament in Meru but Awasi High school coach Benedict Wanjala isn't bothered.
"I'm not worried about there absence as I have a big squad to pick from and I have confidence with my boys for excelling in the upcoming regional ball games," said Wanjala.
