Ayub Timbe allays injury fears, says he is ready for Algeria

16 Jun 2019, 12:40

Ayub Timbe has played down concerns over an injury he suffered during Harambee Stars' 1-1 draw against DR Congo in a pre-Africa Cup of Nations friendly played on Saturday evening in Spain.

Timbe was the man of the match in a lively contest, and laid the assist for Michael Olunga to give Stars the only goal of the match.

Timbe was however replaced by Paul Were after picking up a knock, but the winger has allayed any fears of any serious injury.

Stars conceded on the 87th minute to draw 1-1, and end their friendly matches in a good note having beaten Madagascar 1-0 in the first match.

Stars are pooled in Group C alongside Algeria, Senegal and neighbours Tanzania, and will kick off their campaign against the Desert Foxes.
