Match preview 🏆

Portugal has only lost only one of their last 15 games but they remain a team lacking in style and have drawn their last four.  Fernando Santos has plenty of talent at his disposal, including veteran Cristiano Ronaldo. With Benfica wonder kid Joao Felix emerging, Portugal is starting to bridge the gap between youth and experiences but fluid attacking football is the next goal for Santos.

Switzerland doesn't match up to Portugal on paper,  but they've beaten Belgium and Serbia, as well as drawn with Brazil and Spain in the past twelve months.  During the group phase, the Swiss hit 14 goals - the most of any team in the top tier of the competition, which is quite a turnaround from their low-scoring efforts in the World Cup.

Men to watch & team news 🌟

Cristiano Ronaldo is always a man to watch but Benfica teenager João Felix, his heir apparent, will be keen to make an impression as some of Europe's elite clubs keep a watchful eye on the talented forward.

Xherdan Shaqiri will have to have a fitness test after his exertions in the UEFA Champions League Final, but Granit Xhaka should have no such issues and slot back into the side after participating in the UEFA Europa League final for Arsenal.
