The Nigerian public certainly loved see five of their footballers playing in the league that every footballer dreams of.

Futaa looks out how each of the five players did in the best league in the world during the 2018/19 season.

In alphabetical order, first up is…

1. Alex Iwobi: Arsenal

  • Birthplace: Lagos
  • Age: 23
  • Position: Forward
  • Appearances: 51
  • Goals: Six
  • Assists: Nine
  • Injuries: None
  • Verdict: Partial success. Regular appearances but disappointing in goal output for Iwobi.

2. Isaac Success Ajayi: Watford FC

  • Birthplace: Benin City
  • Age: 23
  • Position: Forward
  • Appearances: 35
  • Goals: Four
  • Assists: One
  • Injuries: None
  • Verdict: Not successful. Success enjoyed a full 90 minutes only five times in his 35 appearances.

  • Birthplace: Imo
  • Age: 22
  • Position: Striker
  • Appearances: 35
  • Goals: Two

  • Age: 30
  • Position: Central defender
  • Appearances: 10
  • Goals: One

5. Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi: Leicester City

  • Birthplace: Lagos
  • Age: 22
  • Position: Central midfielder
  • Appearances: 40
  • Goals: Two
  • Assists: One
  • Injuries: None
  • Verdict: Passed with flying colours. Confirmed as the number one best tackler in the Premier League. Bigger clubs expected to ring Ndidi's agent.

Barring Isaac Success, the rest of the players in the above four are expected to lead Nigeria in next month’s AFCON 2019.
