22 May 2019, 00:45

Ahead of the 2019 Copa America that is set to be hosted in Brazil as from Friday 14th June, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has named his 23-man squad with Mauro Icardi being the biggest snub.

Manchester City forward, Sergio Aguero is back in the side for the first time since the 2018 World Cup while Paulo Dybala also made the cut despite scoring only five goals in 30 league appearances this season. The 23-man squad also includes eight players from both the domestic and Mexican leagues, including Milton Casco of River Plate, who will compete with Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico at left back.

La Albiceleste’s opening game comes against Paraguay on Thursday 20th June.
