I’ve always dreamed of winning AFCON with Nigeria - Iwobi
As the season is winding down in various leagues accross the world, attention is shifting to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by Egypt.
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi is already dreaming of winning AFCON title and believes good preparations could help the country achieve a fourth continental glory.
The Arsenal winger was a vital part of the team as they made a return to the continental stage after two misses, and he stated that it has always been his dream to win the Nations Cup with Nigeria.
“We are going to prepare. We have done well by ending on a high after beating Seychelles so we are looking forward to going to the AFCON.
“I have always dreamt of winning it but the fact that I’m even representing my country is a dream come true. So I’m always proud and honoured to wear the green and white,” Iwobi concluded.
With 27 senior caps for the Eagles, the 23-year-old has now become one of the senior boys in the current Eagles squad since making his debut in October 2015.
