Weekend Premier League Preview

December is finally here, and we have approached that sharp bend, where the leading pack is separated from the middle table sides, and the relegation strugglers.

Tottenham’s trip to Old Trafford is our highlight this weekend. We expect a tough contest, with both sides coming out to give their best. A lose for either of the two ,United particularly throws them out of contention for the title this season. Spurs can afford a defeat. United cannot imagine earning a draw.

It is in the midfield where we project to see one of the most tactical and fierce midfield battles this season. Talk of the fluency of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Herrera, the hard tackling traits of Paul Pogba and Victor Wanyama. The turn, the pass, the sliding tackle...What a contest it promises to be!

Sunderland play Swansea, in a match of two extremes. One side is rising fast, after a disastrous opening to the season, while the other is headed down the gutters. Things look dull and gloomy for Swansea, after the entry of Bob Bradley failed to ignite any magic.

Swansea has showed great potential and desire to win, but after a 5-0 soaking last weekend, Bob Bradley must win against the Black Cats, to secure his job. Both sides can score goals, but it is Sunderland who have more prolific scorers, like Jermaine Defoe.

Two great factors tilt in Spurs favour- A great run of form and a red hot Jermaine Defoe. It’s almost impossible to imagine that Swansea will get a result here.

After a fist-ful contest with Chelsea last weekend, where two of its players were shown red, Manchester City takes it title to the King Power stadium.

Following the disastrous outing last weekend, City will be keen to get back to winning ways, albeit without top scorer Sergio Aguero.

The defending champions welcome the Premier League’s best away side, and following a 5-0 midweek whacking in the Champions League, and a terrible form in the domestic league, something has to change fast.

Leicester is flirting with relegation, and nothing short of an unlikely victory is what they need.

A free scoring Arsenal plays host to Stoke City, seeking to extend its great run thus far.

The Gunners have netted 12 in the last 3, and will want to avoid any mistakes here. Arsene Wenger and his men have shown weakness in contesting for the title, and such matches will be key to their title ambitions.

Stoke has won 5 of its past 7, and you can be sure that Mark Hughes men will trouble Arsenal.

Liverpool face West Ham in another tricky fixture.

The Kops lost in dramatic fashion last weekend, to a resilient Bournemouth, and now face a desperate West Ham side.

Both sides have major injury worries, and whoever wants it more is most likely to emerge top. We should anticipate a bunch of goals here. Liverpool is however, slowly falling out of title contention, and there is reason to believe that West Ham will come out on top here with a slight margin.

A great football weekend it is!
