A terrific weekend is building up, as clubs look to set themselves in line for league titles.
El Clasico will headline the weekend, with Real taking a trip to Camp Nou, and expecting a vctory to extend its stay at the top of the La Liga.
Real Madrid is clear at the top of La Liga while Barcelona is struggling to find its feet, already throwing away seven points at home this term. In recent Clasico, Ronaldo has certainly more goals, although Messi has been involved the most in Barca’s goals, and this sets up a fierce attacking contest between the two Spanish giants.
Real Madrid is on a 25 match unbeaten run, and it will take something special for Barca to halt the fairy tale run. This should be a no-holds barred contest, with Barca likely to force Madrid into a draw.
The Rome Derby in the Serie A is also another of the weekend’s top fixtures, as Lazio plays host to Roma.
Lazio is currently on a roll, and hasn't lost in 9 straight matches. Roma on the other hand has kept its second place spot in the overall standings and is unbeaten in 5 of the last 6 fixtures.
Both teams are likely to come all out for victory. Roma has however, better quality and we tip it to win narrowly.
In the English Premier League, Manchester City opens the weekend with a tight fixture against Chelsea.
The Citizens are enjoying some good run, as are their weekend visitors. However, Antonio Conte and his men will look to rattle City’s weak defense, and leave the Etihad with maximum points.
December is a tricky month, and certainly both sides will be keen to get a victory to consolidate their place at the top of the log. Although it could be too early to call, this contest has all the makings of a title decided and whoever wins here should have an upper hand in the race to the title.
The Blues are on a solid run of seven consecutive wins, (19 goals scored and only one conceded), and it will take something special from City to halt a side so strong in confidence. This is more likely to end in a draw, a result that will certainly favour Chelsea.
West Ham host Arsenal in what looks like an extremely tricky encounter,
The burden is on Arsenal, following a recent unconvincing run, that including an EFC Cup 2-0 booting in mid week. Although Arsenal could be excused for the midweek loss, after resting all key assassins, the Gunners have drawn one too many ties in the Premier League, and will be under pressure to get maximum points.
Arsenal is desperate for victory, as anything short will see them drop from the title race. West Ham held Man United to a draw last weekend, and Slaven Bilic will be keen to frustrate the visiting Gunners.
Both sides have good attacking options. However, the defenses on both sides are likely to determine the outcome in this one.
A rather disappointing Everton plays host to Man United, in a tie that could determine a lot for both sides.
Everton hasn't been as impressive, and will look to get themselves back on track, with a win over a United side keen to go back to the top of the Premier League table. United will miss Jose Mourinho, who is out suspended.
United’s season has not been as convincing, and a trip to Everton should be quite tricky for them. Anything is possible here, including a goalfest, with Everton coming out on top.
