Zico named Harambee Stars coach

Gor Mahia Coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno has been named the new Harambee Stars Coach.

Zico, the 2010 runner up coach of the Year during the Footballer of the Year awards (FOYA) and the Coach of the Year during the 2010 Sports of the Year Award (SOYA) was until his elevation the assistant coach of Harambee Stars.

Zico announcement came just days after the Sports and youth Affairs Minister named a Management Board that would ‘completely take over’ the functions of Harambee Stars.

Zico’s appointment has been confirmed by Harambee Stars Communication and PR Manager Terry Hussein.

Mulee resigned after Kenya’s disastrous run

Zico has been elevated to the top job after immediate former Coach Jacob Ghost Mulee” said Terry while speaking to Kenyanfootie.com.

Zico’s first role will be to assemble a team on 27th December that will travel to Egypt early January for a four nation invitational tournament” added Hussein.

Zico moves up from an assistant role taking over the reigns of Mulee who resigned soon after Kenya’s disastrous run at the recently ended CECAFA senor challenge Cup that saw Kenya placed 12th in 12 participating nations.

Mathare United head coach Salim Ali remains the teams assistant Coach with the rest of the technical bench remaining intact.
