Palos FC chairman Patrick Imbuga says his side's sole goal this season is to earn promotion to the Kenyan Premier League following a seventh place finish in their maiden season in Kenya's second tier, in 2016.
Palos got promoted to the NSL in 2016 and started their campaign well. A run of poor results and changes in the technical bench towards the end of the season dented the team’s chances of getting promoted and in end the Kisumu based side finished 7th in the league.
Ahead of the 2017 season, Imbuga says the team's target this season is to get promoted to the Kenyan Premier League for 2018 season.
-Just like last season our goal is to earn promotion to the Kenyan Premier League at the end of the season, we were on course of achieving that in 2016 but we registered a lot of draws which in the end hurt us. At some point inexperience cost us because we are a young team and lacked those senior players to encourage the youngsters. We picked lessons from our first season in the NSL and we are looking forward to a better 2017, Imbuga told Futaa.com.
Palos finished 7th in the log with 58 points. The club conducted trials in Friday 6 January to bolster its playing unit.
