The Football Kenya Federation will not fill the void left by expelled Division One side Murang'a United in the group one of the second tier league [Division One].
According to the FKF League and Competition Chairperson Doris Petra, the league will now run with 48 teams for the rest of the season after the axing a week ago.
-We will not be replacing Muranga United. The league will go on with no additions, she stated.
Petra further explained that any results from all their fixtures so far would not be considered in the final points tally meaning that teams that had benefited from walkovers will now have to start searching for points afresh.
Rules state that
According to the Division one rules and regulations part 10[e], Withdrawal in the first leg will nullify all the results played by the withdrawing club.
Murang'a United was thrown out of the league after skipping three consecutive league matches since the start of this season's action a month ago and will have to stay out of action for the rest of the season.
