The CECAFA Senior Challenge cup semis, that were set to be played in Kisumu will be played at a different venue.
This was confirmed by CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye who says that it will not be possible.Impossible
-It will be impossible. After a daylong inspection, we have come to the conclusion that it will not be possible to stage matches here in Kisumu.
-We had candid discussion with the contractors and the concluded that it would take a further two months for the stadium to be usable.
-I would like to commend the Governor and the people of Kisumu for the splendid work they are doing. We don’t want to rush the contractors.
-Instead, they should strive to deliver a very good facility that would host international fixtures too, Musonye said.
They, however, have not confirmed where the semis will be played. The quarter-finals will be played from Saturday 7 November to Sunday 8 December in Mombasa.
