The KPL Top 8 tournament match pitting AFC Leopards against bitter rivals Gor Mahia is set to be played on Sunday 20 May, tentatively at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru County.
Earlier on, the match had been scheduled to take place on April 1 at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani, but it was postponed following Sports Stadia Management Board’s decision to ban Gor Mahia from using their facilities after the chaos that erupted during the March KPL derby.
Waiting for Nyayo
However, according to the Kenyan Premier League CEO Jack Oguda, they are still waiting for the intervention of Football Kenya Federation for them to secure Nyayo National Stadium.
-The match will take place on 20th this month.
-We are hoping the Federation will try and get for us Nyayo National Stadium but it’s tentatively for Afraha, Oguda told futaa.com.
The winner will join defending Champions Ulinzi Stars, Tusker, and SoNy Sugar who have already qualified for the semi-finals.
At the moment, it's not yet clear whether Leopards will honour the match as they had earlier announced their withdrawal from the tournament.
