Masika named for crucial Belgian tie

Kenyan winger Ayub [Timbe] Masika has been named in Belgium’s top tier side KRC Genk for a crucial post regular season Championship playoff tie against Zulte-Waregem on Friday 3 May 2013 from 2130hrs local time.

Heading to the tie, Genk lies fifth in the six team playoff log with 36 points, four short of their opponents.

Injury spell

A win in the round of seven playoff game will see Genk rise up the log to tie with reigning Belgian champions Anderlecht who face off with Standard Liege on Sunday.

In being named for the tie, Masika, who came off the bench in the past weekend to taste a 2-0 home loss to Circle Brugge, will be eying only his second game for Genk this year since recovering from a lengthy injury spell.

The upcoming game will be hosted by Zulte-Waregem at the Regenboog Stadium, Waregem.
