FC Macmilan from umoja and Asubuhi United from Kayole estate are through to the quarter finals of the ongoing Eastlands Community Cup.
Ten-man Macmilan advanced after coming from one goal down to hand Buruburu Sportive a 3-1 beating, in their Friday 21 December match.
Buruburu opened the scores after 30th minutes, through a header by Kevin Maina, giving his side a lead that stood to the half-time break.
In the second half, Macmilan came out steaming and equalized in the 48th minute through Stephen Odhiambo. Samuel Mwangi made it 2-1 in the 76th minute and added another one in the 82nd minute.
Macmilan goalkeeper Dominic Odaga was sent off for handling the ball out the box for the second time.
In the second match, Asubuhi United, who mainly fielded Premier League players, picked an easy 4-0 over Korogocho FC to sail through.
The goals were netted by Simon Mburu (24’), Edgar Alvin (44’), Erick Muranda (67’) and Hastings Majaga (89’).
The quarter finals will be played on Thursday 27 December, at the Huruma Stadium. Young Kings, Intercity FC, Masonko and Eastleigh Youth have already progressed to the round of eight.
