AFC Leopards were dimmed by a shocking 3-0 defeat in the hands of City Stars at the Nyayo Stadium Saturday afternoon.

City Stars proved a thorn in the flesh of Leopards from early in the match with Dan Sserunkuma being the man to watch.

Masika out

Ingwe had an injury problem to deal with in the 40th minute when Erick Masika was forced out with an injury in the 40th minute and was replaced by Charles Okwemba.

The second half was action packed as the bottom placed team return with their entire arsenal ready to chase back Leopards back to their den.

Their efforts paid off ten minutes into the second half when Dan Sserunkuma finally got his way to notch the opener for the Stars.

No stopping

Boniface Onyango was at it in the 64th minute notching a second for the Stars with Ssrunkuma completing his brace four minutes later.

Ingwe defense appeared to struggle with the absence of Erick Masika and City Stars made inroads into their half more often than not.

The Ugandan could have made it four in the 75th minute but Matasi was at hand to make the much needed save to leave it at 3-0.

The win lifts City Stars from relegation with 11 points while AFC’s lead was reduced to within two points from Tusker FC.
