The Tusker FC home game against Gor Mahia in the Tusker Premier League (TPL) that had been scheduled for Wednesday 6 March at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani has been called off.

Confirmation of the same was given by the TPL logistics and operations officer Mr. Frank Okoth who informed that the postponement was occasioned by Gor Mahia’s request on uncertainty about their travel plans from Seychelles, where they played Anse Reunion in the CAF Confederations Cup on Saturday 2 March.

He added that due to the ongoing electioneering exercises it was deemed safer to push the game to a later date.

-Gor Mahia told us they were unsure of their travel plans from Seychelles and since it was a midweek game it stood to be affected so we postponed it. The decision was also occasioned by the fact that Monday was a holiday and the country is still in the electioneering exercise. A new date for it will be confirmed, he said.

League openers

Gor Mahia will thus play their first league game against Sofapaka while Tusker will open their 2013 league account against KCB.
